    Floral Polka Dot Playsuit

Saturday seemed like the perfect opportunity to wear my floral polka dot playsuit. I only bought it a couple of weeks ago and to be honest I didn’t think I’d get chance to wear it so soon, what with the constant rain and all. But alas, this weekend we saw some sun and so I joyfully put on the new playsuit.

I would have liked to have worn the playsuit without tights but I’m affriad it isn’t warm enough for that just yet (one step at a time). Anyway I teamed the playsuit with a pair of flat patent blue ballet pumps and matching blue bag, both from Zara. The bag, I bought last year (if I remember rightly) and the shoes I bought only recently in the sale for £12 and this was my first time wearing them. I really love the colour of the shoes (and the bag), I seem to have a bit of a thing for shades of blue lately.

My best and favourite buy of course was the playsuit. I picked it up whilst I was in Birmingham shopping in from Forever 21. I’d originally picked up a pair of shorts in the same print when I then spotted the playsuit. Of course the playsuit became the winner and it was swiftly purchased. The best part is it was only £12, what a bargain! I so need to shop there more often.

Saturday afternoon my boyfriend and I went to T.G.I Friday’s to stuff our faces. We shared a starter of Buffolo wings with blue cheese dip and for my main I went for the Jack Daniel’s burger (I absolutley love that flavour). Hmmm, tasty.

    Manchester Blog Meetup

On Saturday, my boyfriend Damien and I were heading into town to the Northern Quarter for a spot of lunch and a few drinks. It was on our way into the centre that I decided to have a quick scroll through my Twitter feed and as I did I spotted that there was a Manchester blog meetup taking place in the Northern Quarter that afternoon. I instantly wanted to get involved and so I sent a tweet to Jasmin, who had organised the meet up and asked where it would be as I was keen to pop along. It was perfect timing too and after quickly nipping to the shops, Damien and I headed to kosmonaut, where the meetup was taking place.

Luckily for Damien, Jasmin, who had travelled up from London, had brought her boyfriend, Paul along too and so it wasn’t long before the pair of them were enjoying a pint each and chatting about ‘guys stuff’.

It was my first bloggers meet up and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so nice to chat to many other like minded bloggers and of course exchange blogs with one another (I always love finding new ones to read). The turn out was really good which was of course great but it was a shame that I didn’t get chance to chat to everyone there, as there were so many of us. It was a great afternoon though and I got to meet a lovely mixed bunch of beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers.

This is some of us not long before we left (many had already just gone) but here are some of the lovely ladies I got to chat to.

Lots of chatting and several glasses of wine later, we wrapped things up at the bloggers meet up and after everyone headed their separate ways, Damien and I went to Hold Fast Bar for another drink. As impromptu as it was, we both really enjoyed the meet up and had a really good afternoon. I always enjoy meeting new people and sharing interests, I think I’ll have to make it to another meet up again soon.

  • Flashbacks of The Last Summer…

    Flashbacks of The Last Summer…

I woke up yesterday morning and it was snowing… SNOWING! Now I’m not complaining, no wait a minute, I am. Snow is fabulous, it’s delightful, it’s absolutely fantastically magical when it comes along before Christmas, or Christmas Day, even better! However, two and a half weeks after, when the tree is down and Santa has gone home, I’m over it. I’m sick of being cold and I certainly don’t want to see snow. Now I shouldn’t be moaning as I really do enjoy the different seasons and I’m sure if I lived with one consistent weather type I’d miss it but I blame the shops and Christmas cards for my lack of January weather appreciation. I blame Christmas cards because the pictures always portray snow laden valleys and pretty icicles, which now immediately makes me associate cold weather and frost with Christmas time and the shops are worse because they decide to get rid of all the winter stock at the coldest time of the year and start stocking in spring/summer clothes and bikinis. Now I don’t know about you but that really messes my head up and it makes my need for spring/summer days even more immidiate.

With all this in my mind, I was clearing through some of the stuff on my hard drive the other day when I stumbled across some unused outfit shots from last August. It reminded me how nice it is to be able to wear so few layers. So now I thought I’d finally share this forgotten outfit post on my blog, as a reminder that it was warm once and it will eventually be beautiful spring/summer once again. And to all of you who live in countries where it is warm right now, I’m not jealous one bit. Of course I’m not.

Last Thursday I had a long overdue Mother, Daughter day and so The Mother and I decided to spend it doing what we do best, shopping. Before hitting the shops however, we went to The Manchester Art Gallery to check out the latest exhibition there, The Sensory War 1914-2014. It’s certainly one that I would recommend to any art lovers in town.

Before we left The Manchester Art Gallery we spotted some women’s dresses on display on the ground floor which were designed and made in the 1950s. Being a big lover of the fashion styles of that decade I had to take a few snaps and we were particularly amazed to see how tiny the models waists were.

After we’d spent the morning wondering round the gallery, we headed for a spot of coffee and cake to give us a much needed energy boost before our long awaited shopping spree. So it was off to Patisserie Valerie we went and I opted for a mixed fruit tart and coffee mocha, whilst The Mother went for a slice of lemon cheesecake washed down with a cappuccino.

I managed to buy lots of new winter pieces whilst shopping, as well as picking up a few Christmas presents. We literally shopped until we dropped and ended the day with a meal and cocktails in one of my favourite Italian restaurants, Avalanche.

  • Something Old, Something Blue

    Something Old, Something Blue

Again we’ve been experiencing this unexpected sunny weather here in England and so my wardrobe is back to front. Just as I was about to start shopping for faux furs and winter boots, the sun has decided to stay a little longer and so I’m pulling out crop tops and light fabrics to keep up with the weather.

I feel really unprepared for this sunny September and as I feel I’ve exhausted my summer wardrobe already, I’ve been forced to rummage a little deeper through my wardrobe and by doing so have found garments I forgot I even owned.

    Street Style

I absolutely love these culottes but although I’ve had them a while, I’ve very rarely worn them due to the colour, as I often finding that they clash with most of my other clothes. Yesterday however, it was finally time to pull them out of the closet.

I decided to team the culottes with a white crop top that I bought earlier this year, from Forever 21. I thought that the culottes and the crop top looked so cute together but this is where I had the dilemma of finding a jacket that went with the whole look. As I knew it would get a little chilly in the evening I was adamant I needed a jacket. Then voila, I found this little leopard print number that I’ve had since forever. With my brown bag and flats, I thought the jacket teamed the whole look together rather well. Not bad for an outfit that was literally thrown on.

It was date night, so my boyfriend and I headed out for pizza and wine (my favourite), before going to the cinema to watch The Guest. If you were wondering, I thought that the film was unusual but I rather liked it. I don’t think that it will be everyone’s cup of tea but then I always seem to like strange films. I was most fascinated watching Dan Stevens playing a convincing psychotic American guy, long gone is Mr Crawly!

    What I Wore:
    Culottes: Rare London (Last year?)
    Crop Top: Forever 21
    Cropped jacket: Ebay (old)
    Ballet Flats: Topshop
    Bag: Zara

  • The Floral Playsuit

    The Floral Playsuit

As of late I’ve been super busy with work so yesterday it was nice to have an afternoon off and enjoy a long overdue lunch date with the Mother. I was shooting in the morning but with an early finish, it gave me plenty of time to meet up with the Mother and enjoy a lovely afternoon in the sun. We went to Avalanche Restaurant for lunch and wine and then spent the rest of the day sat outside bars drinking summery ciders and fruity cocktails, bliss.

I’d been in London again on the weekend and whilst I was down I did some shopping, picking up lots of summery outfits, which I can’t wait to wear now the sun is deciding to show it’s face! I also purchased this cute floral play suit from Forever 21. They have so many pretty summer pieces in at the moment. I love this playsuit as it’s loose fitted which makes it cool to wear on hot days and it’s floral print is ultra girlie. I do hope these sunny days continue but with the unpredictable British weather, I guess it’s best to just make the most of it whilst it’s here.
