One Nourishing Night Cream To Rule Them All

My night time skincare routine has significantly upped it’s game these past several months, with a lot of focus going on serums and overnight masks, but it’s been a while since I introduced a new night cream into my routine.

    Antipodes Avocado Pear Cream Review

The Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream not only sounds delicious (for the face not for consumption of course), but it’s also proven to have anti-ageing benefits, or as they put it, it’s ‘scientifically shown to stimulate synthesis of collagen production in human cells by up to 92%’ and it does all this whilst also being vegan friendly.

The Green Beauty Bible Awards Winner Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream

So what’s not to love about this product… Well, nothing actually. It’s very creamy and really does feel super nourishing on the skin. It comes in a cute little glass jar and has a sort of herbal smell which I personally really like.

As I very quickly discovered, only a small amount of the nourishing night cream is needed on each application, as it really is a very creamy product which spreads easily. I found that when applying too much of the cream, my skin was left feeling a little bit greasy. After mastering the application I realised I only need one to two pea sized amounts to cover my neck and face. I’ve found it’s just the right amount and it leaves my skin feeling instantly hydrated. The real magic however works over night as all the natural oils and goodness soak into the skin.

Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream

This Antipodes night cream really does leave my skin feeling plump, hydrated and just as it says, nourished.

For me this isn’t an every night cream but for when I need that extra creamy nourishing goodness for my skin, I immediately reach for this jar. This night cream is suitable for all types of skin but I’d definitely recommend it if you have particularly dry skin or if like me, you have combination skin that needs a little extra nourishment from time to time. I’m certainly a new fan of the Antipodes Nourishing Night Cream as it leaves my skin feeling amazing.

Have you tried any of the Antipodes products?

  • Creating A Flawless Future With Elizabeth Arden

Creating A Flawless Future With Elizabeth Arden

My skincare routine has changed a lot recently. I turned another year older in June and although I may still look young (I hope), I know that I mustn’t take it for granted and it’s important that I take the steps now to look after my skin for the future. Now that I’m officially in my mid twenties I want to invest in skincare that can hopefully help maintain the youthful look of my skin a while longer…

A problem I often have is finding products that are exactly right for my age. I’m often drawn in by skincare products to then find that they are either for much younger or much older skin than my own, so I was excited when I discovered the Elizabeth Arden Flaweless Future range.

    Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Review

I don’t know about you but I usually think of Elizabeth Arden as a brand that caters for an older age range. Although I have tried a couple of their products in the past, I had never ventured into trying out their facial skincare/moisturisers, until now.

    Flawless Future Caplet Serum
First of all let’s talk about the packaging. Okay, so the look of the packaging isn’t going to make the product work any better but I have to say I instantly loved the look of this, as I just think it looks so pretty. It’s the type of product you’d want to keep out on your dressing table…

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Caplet Serum Review

Anyway, onto the important stuff. When you pump out the serum the tiny caplets inside burst as the serum is released. It has a gorgeous shimmer to it that instantly makes your skin look glowing and more radiant.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Caplet Serum

This is a serum that can be used both morning and night. However, I tend to use it just in the morning, as I love the look it gives my skin (with the ever so slight shimmer) so I personally almost feel it’s a waste wearing it for bed.

The serum has quite a runny consistency but it dries quickly once applied to the skin. Once it’s on, I can’t even feel that it’s there.

For the instant effects it certainly helps to give me a brighter looking complexion as I feel the shimmering particles within the serum help reflect the light and add a glow to my skin. For long term effects, it claims to ‘intercept early aging signs’ and ‘reduce the appearance of early signs of wrinkles’.

    Flawless Future Night Cream

The night cream is luxuriously creamy. When I’ve applied it to my skin it feels instantly hydrated as it starts to sink in and work its magic.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Night Cream

This cream is very thick and so a little bit goes a long way. I especially feel it works great after I’ve had a hectic day and my skin requires a little extra care.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Night Cream Review

The morning after having applied this cream I can see that it has worked its magic, as it leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and plumped.

I’ve currently been using these two Flawless Future products for about three months now and I’m really pleased with them both as the two products combined have been working fabulously on my skin. I think that they are the type of products that you can easily work into your current skincare routine (as I have done). The night cream has worked a dream on my skin when it’s looking a little fatigued and the serum has fit perfectly into my routine each morning.

I’ll be keen to invest in both of these products again. More so the night cream than the serum, as I have to say that the night cream has been my favourite out of the two. They are quite pricey but I feel that for the results I have found them to have on my skin, they are worth it if you can alternate them between your other skincare products and make them last. I personally think that these are great ones to add to the Christmas wish list.

  • My New & Improved Skincare Routine – Brands From Abroad

My New & Improved Skincare Routine – Brands From Abroad

I have been introduced to so many new skincare products recently and my entire skincare routine has been given a total revamp! It’s something that I’d been wanting to do for a while as I knew that due to my skin changing (age wise) and the seasons changing, I wasn’t getting the best results from my previous routine and so it was time to switch things up.

I always like to try products for a couple of weeks before giving my verdict but after a couple of months I can say that these products have become firm favorites as part of my new skincare routine.

Everyday Skin Care Routine for combination skin

Gatineau Peeling Expert Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Cream

First up is the Gatineau Peeling Expert Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Cream (or as I like to call it, face scrub). I wasn’t sure about this product when I first used it, as the ‘micro-beads’ felt quite soft and didn’t feel like they were really scrubbing and exfoliating the skin like some face scrubs do – This is probably where I’d previously been going wrong using rougher face scrubs – as after a couple of time of using this product, I realized that it didn’t need to feel like it was ‘scrubbing’ my skin at all. The Peeling Expert’s gentle exfoliation was all I needed to help exfoliate, smooth and brighten my skin.

For the past two months I’ve been using the Gatineau Peeling Expert two times per week and it’s helped to keep my skin feeling smooth and looking bright without being harsh on my skin.

    Astalift Brightening Serum

The Astalift brightening serum is one of my favorites. I mentioned it in a previous post here, so I won’t go into too much detail but I’ve been using this morning and night now for the past couple of months and my complexion has never looked more even. My blemishes have been massively reduced and overall I feel this product gives my skin a fabulous radiance.

    Astalift Brightening Serum
Caudalie Polyphenols C15 Broad Spectrum Spf 20 Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid

Other than winning the award for longest title – The Caudalie Polyphenols C15 also contains SPF 20, so it’s a great for daily application to help protect the skin. It also contains hyaluronic acid which helps to plump the skin and smooth out any fine lines. It’s super light weight, smells amazing and smooths on easily to the face and neck making my skin feel super fresh in the mornings.

It is meant to be used as moisturizer alone but on days when my skin feels dry, I like to add a creamier moisturizer on top. I love that this one protects my skin against UVA and UVB radiation though, so I currently like to use this every morning.

    Caudalie Paris Polyphenol C15 review

    Embryolisse lait-crème concentré

Finally the embryolisse lait-crème concentré is another skincare product that I recently reviewed here on my blog. This stuff is amazing for when I need to add instant hydration to my skin. It’s great to use as an everyday moisturizer and for me it’s been the perfect combination to apply it after the Caudalie Polyphenols C15, to help prep my skin ready for makeup.

    Embryolisse Lait-creme concentre review

I’ve been loving my new skincare routine, so much so that I’ve been enjoying plenty more makeup free days as my skin has been looking far more radiant.

  • Makeup Artist’s Wonder Lotion – Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

Makeup Artist’s Wonder Lotion – Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

Every now and again, I’ll come across a skincare product that I know will become a main asset within my skincare regime. It’s not often I find something that I instantly fall in love with but with the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré that is exactly what happened.

    Embryolisse lait-crème concentré

If I’m honest, I don’t know why I didn’t get my hands on this product sooner. It’s something I’ve had different makeup artists use on me many times on shoots before and I’ve often said I’d have to get it. Finally I got the Lait-Crème concentré from Beauty Expert a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been loving using it since.

The Creme is a three in one product which is able to be used as a primer, moisturiser and can even be used as a makeup remover. Although I haven’t tried to remove my makeup with it just yet, I can say that it works as an excellent moisturiser and primer. This stuff is thick and creamy, yet when rubbed in it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin as you can instantly feel it start to sink in and add some much needed hydration.

    embryolisse cream review

I’ve been enjoying using this cream both morning and night recently and I really feel it helps to plump my skin and keep it feeling soft and looking radiant. I’ve definitely found one of my new skincare must haves here. I’d say for what you get and what this product does, it’s affordable and would recommend it anyone.

  • Superdrug Tea Tree Skincare Review

    Superdrug Tea Tree Skincare Review

As usual I’ve been trying out some different skincare products (forever buying new lotions and potions). I was in need of a new face wash and some other skin care essentials and so I thought I’d give some of the products from Superdrug’s own Tea Tree range a go.

Superdrug Tea Tree Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash

Superdrug Tea Tree Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash

I really like this face wash for day to day use. As you can see, I’ve already started to work my way through the tube. I opted for the Tea Tree face wash in pink grapefruit, there was also lemon (linked above) and original available, if I remember correctly. This product has a subtle yet refreshing grapefruit scent and it comes out in a regular face wash gel like consistency which you wash on, wash off. I like this product because it doesn’t feel too harsh or drying on the skin and so it’s great for everyday use.

Superdrug Tea Tree Facial Cleansing Pads

Superdrug Tea Tree Facial Cleansing Pads

As I’ve mentioned in a previous skin care post, I often like antiseptic and tea tree smelling products. Without sounding like a freak, it’s basically because I love that extra fresh smell and often I’ve found products that have those sort of smells often leave your skin feeling in a similar way. I’m a big fan of cleansing pads anyway, as many models will tell you it’s so handy to have skin care products that you can pop in your bag and use after removing your make-up on shoots. I’ve previously used many of the well known brand cleansing pads and this time I thought I’d give these Superdrug own brand ones a go. These cleansing pads are probably my favourite out of the three products. Not only do thay have that clean, fresh tea tree smell (with peppermint too) that I love but they also leave your skin felling so clean and refreshed. I’ve found I like using these most when my skin in feeling on the oily side and especially when I fell like I’m about to have a break out.

Superdrug Tea Tree Moisturising Face Cream

    Superdrug Tea Tree Facial Moisturiser

The moisturser if I’m honest is my least favourite out of the three products, however that’s not to say that I dislike it. For me I feel this moisturiser is a little too matte and dries straight onto this skin, whereas I rather more creamy moisturisers that hydrate the skin a lot more. Again this product has that great fresh tea tree and peppermint smell (although a lot subtler than the cleansing pads), and although I won’t be replacing this with my regular day moisturisers any time soon, I have managed to find great use for it as one of the products that I keep in my gym bag. As it’s a 30ml plastic tube this facial moisturiser makes for a great travel size and I’d say this one is a good back up to keep in your hand bag for on the go.

Overall I’d give this range a thumbs up. At under £3.50 per product you can’t really complain as I think these products are great value for money! They are certainly ideal if you’re on a budget, especially when you can get points on your Superdrug card in the process, which is always a bonus.

  • No7 Essential Moisture Day Cream

    No7 Essential Moisture Day Cream

I first starting No7 skincare when I was in my teens and although I’ve used many other brands over the years, No7’s moisturiser is one I always come back to.

This Essential Moisture Day Cream is great for dry skin, which is why I like to use it during the Autumn/Winter months as it does feel moisture rich on the skin and helps provide that TLC when the skin most needs it.

I find this moisturiser feels creamy on the skin without feeling too oily and creates a good base for underneath makeup whilst keeping your skin hydrated. It’s also Hypo-allergenic and fragrance free to make it suitable for sensitive skin.

Like I said, I’ve been using this No7 moisturisers on and off for years now (occasionally changing to alternate my routine) and No7 still remains one of my favourite brands for skin care. Essential Moisture Day Cream is a moisturiser I would definitely recommend.
