London, Liverpool and The Cricket Fashion Show

On Wednesday I headed to London with fellow model and friend, Nicole. It was nice to have someone to go down to London with as usually for castings and work I’m travelling down alone. As I was with a friend, I’d originally planned on getting a few outfit snaps whilst I was down there but as our busy schedule took over, there was time for iPhone snaps only and so I’ve decided to do this post as more of a photo diary.

After a busy day of castings with only a brief Pret stop for lunch, by dinner time we were seriously ready to pig out with a glass of wine… Or many.

With just enough time for a quick shower and an outfit change we were off to a local restaurant for some yummy Italian food. We decided on a local restaurant in Palmers Green called Sole D’oro and Nicole and I both went for the same dishes, opting for the calamari to start followed by a pepperoni pizza each for our mains. The food was gorgeous, especially our starters of calamari. The place had a good atmosphere and great service which meant we stayed a while after our meal enjoying our drinks over a good chat.

We stayed until the restaurant’s close and then went into the bar next door where we enjoyed more drinks and made friends with some of the locals.

The next day we were up and out early for more castings followed by a test shoot in the afternoon. Before we knew it, it was late and so we decided to catch a train and head back home to Manchester.

On the Friday I had another busy day ahead as I was off to Liverpool to model for The Cricket Fashion Show as part of the Celebration Of Style event.

I was working with some girls and guys from my agency, which meant we had fun backstage, whilst getting ready. Hair prep was the biggest task on me as the hair stylists straightened and curled my hair into a funky side style. Nails Inc Trafford Centre team were on nails and The Cassie Lomas team were on makeup.

I got to model some cute outfits on the night, including this funky Kenzo dress and bag combo and this black strapless Balenciaga dress, which I loved. Heels were Chloe Jade Green (the tiny bit you can see of them – left) and Christian Louboutin (right).

The show went really well and although the after party was beckoning, I did the sensible thing for once and decided to head home. Although once home I did spent the remainder of the night drinking and chatting into the early hours with my boyfriend (it was a Friday after all) but at least I didn’t have far to travel to get into my bed as after a long day and night I was certainly ready for sleep.

What I Got Up To On Valentine’s Day

I’d been dying to see the David Hockney: Early Reflections exhibition for months, so when the boyfriend said that for Valentine’s day he’d booked us a hotel in Liverpool so that we could go to the gallery and also make a night of it, I was more than excited.

We traveled up to Liverpool on Valentine’s Day and once there we spent some of the afternoon going round the shops before retreating from the worsening weather and heading to a bar. We did the touristy thing and went to the Cavern for a few drinks. Although I’ve been to Liverpool an uncountable amount of times, I’d never even been there so it was good to finally go. It got to early evening time and we decided to go straight for a meal, after which we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the night. That night we went out into the center of Liverpool for cocktails and had a great time.

We were up and out early the next morning. We found Moose Coffee just round the corner from our hotel and so we decided to go in for breakfast. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw the menu and suddenly I had a craving for everything on it. I’m not usually one to get excited over breakfast but the options seemed endless and all equally appealing. In the end we both opted for Lone Star Moose, which consisted of ‘minute steak, gourmet chipolata sausages, homemade potato hash, two free range Moose style over easy eggs and a griddled tomato. Served with warm toast and Dijon mustard’ and with me being the greedy bugger I am, I also opted for extra bacon with my order. Needless to say, it was amazing and we each ate every last bit on our plates. The great thing is, I found out that they more recently opened a Moose Coffee in Manchester, so I shall be definitely visiting there in the near future!

After breakfast we headed to the Walker Art Gallery, feeling more ready for a nap than ready to walk round a gallery but we powered on…

I was happy I finally got to see the David Hockney exhibition and I loved some of the work displayed. Unfortunately no pictures could be taken in the David Hockney exhibition but we did get this snap of me looking at this amazing oil painting (in another part of the gallery) by Ged Quinn, titled The Exiled Forever Coming in to Land. This iPhone photo doesn’t do it justice but it is an amazing piece of art which I couldn’t stop staring at.

There was so much to see in the Walker Gallery, we would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for our slowly looming hangovers creeping in from the night before and the bags that were weighing down our shoulders. We left early afternoon and headed home feeling content, full and ready for a rest before getting ready to celebrate my Mother’s birthday later that evening.
