The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil Review

I’d been debating with the idea of investing in an overnight serum for a while but when it came to the point of shopping for one, each time I’d be faced with the dilemma of which one to get, how much to spend and being worried of picking the wrong one. Eventually I went with my instinct and opted for The Body Shop, as I know I often find products from there that I can rely on.

I decided to purchase the Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil, as I already had the Vitamin E eye cream (and love it) so I thought I’d try the serum from this range too.

The Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil comes in a study bottle and the top screws off to revel a pipette, which you can use to carefully dispense the serum onto the finger tips before smoothing onto the face.

The serum oil has a very light, fresh scent and only a few drops are needed, as a tiny amount of this goes a long way. It absorbs quickly into the skin and instantly leaves it feeling smoothed and hydrated.

After using this overnight serum for a couple of months now, I can see my skin looking fresher in the mornings and it has left it feeling so soft. I’m glad I purchased this product and finally invested in an overnight serum. I find it’s great for when my skin is feeling thirsty and in need of an added boost of moisture.

What skincare products have you recently tried for the first time and loved?

  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream Review

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream Review

I recently ran out of my usual eye cream the No7 Overnight Revitalising Eye Balm and as I occasionally like to mix up my skincare products, I thought it was time for a change. During one of my routinely visits to The Body Shop, I decided to try out this eye cream from their Vitamin E range. It’s in a similar price range to the No7 one but at £11 it’s just a pound cheaper.

I’ve been using this Vitamin E eye cream for several weeks now and I’m really pleased with it. It feels so soft and gentle on the skin and after using it daily, both morning and night it’s really helped to keep my under eyes moisturised and hydrated, preventing them from looking dull or tired.

I feel like it has helped reduced puffiness somewhat, although this could be partly due to the fact that I’ve been trying to sleep on my back more instead of face planting into the pillow or the side of my boyfriend.

All in all I’m really pleased with this product and I think it is one I’ll be purchasing again. I’d also be keen to try more of the other products from the Vitamin E range too. Once again, I’ve found another product from The Body Shop that I’m really pleased with and would recommend.

  • The Body Shop – Almond Hand and Nail Cream

The Body Shop – Almond Hand and Nail Cream

During the winter my hands always need a little extra TLC. Although I wear gloves most of the time whilst outdoors during the winter, I still find there’s nothing like a decent hand cream to keep your hands moisturised and protected. I’ve been working my way through this Almond Hand & Nail Cream I got from the body shop this winter and I have to say it’s been doing a great job of keeping my hands soft and preventing them from drying out in this harsh weather.

This hand cream has rather oily consistency, although it does soak into the skin easily, leaving your hands nice and soft. Also I really like the smell of this product (as with most products I buy they have to pass the smell test first). This product may seem a little on the pricey side for a hand cream but I must say, if you have really dry hands then it will probably do a much better job than some of the cheaper hand creams and so may be worth the investment. Also, like I said it is rather oily, so it means you don’t have to use a lot at a time, which means the entire tube lasts quite a while. I’ve had mine for a couple of months now and it’s still going strong.

The only downside to this hand cream I have to say is the packaging. Although it looks nice and fancy in its silver metal tube, it actually becomes a slight inconvenience after having had it for some time. As I’ve got half way through mine, the tube has split slightly in the middle which is obviously not the best. They do however sell a smaller, 30ml tube of this product as apposed to the 100ml which I purchased, which may help prevent this problem and make it safer to have in your handbag.

Despite the slight tube mishap, I’d still recommend this product. However I’d say if you go for the 100ml tube, save it for at home to prevent any accidents incase the tube splits slightly whilst it’s in your handbag.

  • The Body Shop Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz

The Body Shop Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz

As someone who is often on the go, I do appreciate products that are small enough to fit in my handbag and can be used whilst out and about. One product I love for this exact reason is The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz. I don’t need to drone on too much about this product, as it basically is what it says. It sprays on like a watery mist and feels like a diluted moisturiser on the skin. It smells fresh and zesty and so instantly makes you feel refreshed and energised.

I appreciate this product most when I’ve had a day of traipsing around to castings, most of all when it has been a long day and I can actually feel my skin drying out. It’s so handy to be able to grab this out of my bag, spritz this product onto my face and give my skin a much needed boost of hydration. I also love to use this face spritz after long, early morning journeys. I simply spritz this on my face and it works as the perfect wake me up (along with a strong coffee of course).

The best thing about this product is that it can be applied over makeup. So if you’ve had a long day at work or out and about, you can instantly refresh your face with a spray of vitamin c spritz.

  • The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3-in-1 a Scrub Mask Review

The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3-in-1 a Scrub Mask Review

My obsession with The Body Shop seems to be ever growing with each new product that I buy and love. So now I seem to find myself in this store on almost a weekly basis, buying yet more beauty and skin products as my eagerness to try them gets the better of me. One of my recent purchases from The Body Shop was this Honey & Oat Scrub Mask which claims to cleanse, polish and moisturise in one. I was doing an online shop of my regular purchases when I decided to add this item to the basket and give it a go.

When the Honey & Oat Scrub Mask arrived I had to try it right away. It instructs to apply the mask to clean skin and leave on for five to ten minutes before rinsing. The mask (as expected) has an oat consistency and smell. It actually smells almost as if you could eat it (but please don’t do that). I really like the honey and oat smell and the feel of this mask on the skin. It goes on the skin feeling wet and although once left on the skin it doesn’t set completely dry (like many face masks), it still slightly solidifies on the skin.

HONEY & OAT 3 IN 1 SCRUB MASK

After rinsing off the mask my skin was instantly left feeling refreshed and moisturised. I have been really pleased with the results from this product and am glad I made the purchase. I would recommend this product, however it isn’t the cheapest price on the market for a 100ml pot. But what I will say is that you don’t need to use a huge a amount for each mask and as a product you’ll only use once to twice a week, the tub should last you a while. Also it’s nice to treat yourself every once in a while and one of these pots would even make a great little stocking filler for someone who loves their skincare products.

I give the Honey & Oat Scrub Mask a big thumbs up.

  • Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil Review

Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil Review

Recently The Body Shop launched their new Wild Argan Oil range. It was last week whilst in Liverpool, I’d just finished an audition and decided to hit the shops before I got on the train home. I’d gone into The Body Shop looking for hair products and I soon got taking to the friendly shop assistant who enticed me over to the display promoting their new Wild Argan Oil products. I was immediately drawn to the Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil, for body and hair and soon I found myself at the till ready to buy a bundle of new products.

I’ve now been using the solid oil most days since I bought it, if not on my hair, then on my body. The scent to me is like a candle (that’s the best description I can come up with) and it isn’t too overpowering. Although the product is a solid, when you rub the product with your hand, it comes out very oily and so you don’t need to use a lot at a time.

Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil

I love the size of the container, the fact that it’s a palm sized disc, means that it’s perfect for me to keep in my bag. I’ve used the solid oil in my hair over night as part of a braid out (along with other products) and it works well to treat my hair. It also works well to smooth round the edges of my hair when it’s in an up do. For when I’m on the go I like to rub the product into the palm of my hands then rub it through my hair to add some moisture and shine when it’s looking a little dry.

The solid oil is also great to use on the legs as it gives a good shine and like I say, it’s the perfect size to keep in your handbag for on the go. I’d definitely give this product a thumbs up.
